I use floppies and opticals on a ND, and haven't had the eject
problem. Occasionally, a floppy will not show up on the shelf, but
if I find and select it in my browser, the eject option activates and
selecting it ejects the disk.

My external fixed disk **always** shows up on the shelf.

I have had no problem initializing floppies.
