I have two important questions: 1. Exactly how does the "nbuf=xx" work? I broke into the NMI, hit the MON, typed "bsd nbuf=99" and the thing booted with 16 buffers and then failed. I tried several different syntaxes, but to no avail. What gives? 2. What is needed to make the CDROM boot in single-user mode? Since my hard drive went south, I need to boot from CDROM so that I can use the backups which are on several ODs. Do I need to somehow prepare a floppy kickstarter? If so, how exactly do I do this? Reply via email and I'll post a response. dleon@seas.smu.edu
