SCSI QIC tape drives on the NeXT

Has anyone had success with SCSI/QIC tape drives
on their NeXTs? I am specifically interested in
doing backups of my next with dump or gnu-tar
and reading "tar" tapes made on a Sun with a
150MByte QIC tape drive. I did check the FAQ.

I understand there is may be some difference in
block size or whatever between the Sun and the
NeXT and this can cause problems if you don't
use the right incantation and/or software.

I am looking for reports of actual successes or
failures with QIC drives. I'll follow up with a
summary post if sufficient interest is expressed.
