NeXT's policy is not to sell the ROMs. If you would like NeXT to change thier policy, you should contact hardware marketing. The only difference between those two ROM versions is that v65 supports some minor changes to the PC board design. Your older slab would not do anything differently were you to install a newer ROM--well, if you were to install a ROM version 3.0 or higher, it could boot directly from a CD-ROM. I would be surprised if there were any bugs in the ROM code. It is not terribly complex, there are a finite number of things that it needs to support, and NeXT thoroughly tests all of these. NeXTSTEP is a different matter. M Carling Director, Bay Area NeXT Group -- Bill Clinton lied to his wife. How can his country trust him? George Bush lied to his country. How can his wife trust him?
