Is there any way to do this? My .tar.Z file comes up with an error halfway through: Directory checksum: 1089 != 27893 or something like this (made up the numbers). Can I uncompress the tar file and fix it somehow? (I just want to skip the bad block or the bad file and read the rest of the files). This came up while reading from a bad floppy... the file copies but the data is corrupted. Is there a way to fix the floppy? I tried running: root% fsck /dev/fd0a but this didn't seem to do anything. Please email me with tips, suggestions or a step by step method Thanks, Veenu vrr@cbnewsj.att.com
