I've recently started having a problem with CNews/mail - my postings  
aren't being delivered by mail, with the following messages appearing  
in the console:


Dec 14 14:35:15 bullwinkle sendmail[691]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR: cannot  
chdir(/usr/spool/mqueue): Permission denied
Dec 14 14:35:16 bullwinkle sendmail[695]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR: cannot  
chdir(/usr/spool/mqueue): Permission denied

These are occuring right after sendbatches runs:

35 * * * * root su news -c '/usr/lib/newsbin/batch/sendbatches'


Can someone suggest a cause and cure?
