I've come accross an interesting problem....if I alias localhost to my machine name in netinfo, then BIND nameserver (I run named locally) whinges about looking up the localhost name. Some programs and services rely upon being able to resolve localhost to 127.0.0.1 and your IP number to something sensible (well, rely in the sense that an IP number looks ugly). However, renderd will not work unless you alias your localhost to your localmachine name, or viceversa. Am I the only person to notice this, is there a workaround? I'd like to render, but accurate nslookups are more important. Scott -- ~ S.A.McIntyre@durham.ac.uk Scott A. McIntyre scott@shrug.dur.ac.uk (NeXTmail) Psychment of Departology University of Durham.
