A number of people have mailed to tell me that NextMail simply updates
the table_of_contents file. This I already knew  but I need more details.
Can someone in the know tell me about the layout of this file
and/or EXACTLY what is done during the undelete command (ie: is it
really updated or is a new file created? is it a holey fil? what is
the structure of the file? is file locking used and if so what kind? etc).

I would really like to determine what is happening to my Iris (it
crashes because of an `Undelete' request from an NFS mounted NeXT) 
and the first order of business is to figure out what exactly is
*supposed* to happen (and then try to figure out what IS happening).

Thanks to those who have already sent me mail (too numerous to
mention), although there was no new information given to me I
appreciate the effort.
