I am having trouble -NXHost'ing an application from a client machine that is
connected to my network via slip. (Yeah, I've heard it's really slow and
not worth the trouble; but I enjoy pain!)
I have Louis A. Mamakos' slip. And the two machine that are connected are
both running 3.0 (one is a cube, the other a nextstation turbo). When I
start any application with the -NXHost option, e.g.
/NextApps/Terminal.app/Terminal -NXHost slipserver &
I get the following familiar message:
DPS client library error: Could not form connection, host slipserver
I have set the preferences (on slipserver) to be a public window server
and I have logged out and back in since changing the prefs. I must be missing
something really obvious. Has anyone ever tried to do this before? Any help
is greatly appreciated.
