A local user is thinking of buying some NeXT's to augment the work they already do on some Vax's running VMS. Most of the data they have is currently on the VMS systems, and he was wondering how easy it is for NeXT's and VMS systems to share data. Does VMS support NFS, for instance? Are the line-ending characters the same in VMS as they are in Unix/NeXT land? He asked me, and since I have never worked with a VMS system I figured I'd ask the net. For anyone who is using NeXT's with VMS systems, how well do they work together? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this already. Either reply to me (email) or just follow-up. I'll summarize what email messages I receive. Thanks. -- Garance Alistair Drosehn = gad@eclipse.its.rpi.edu ITS Systems Programmer (handles NeXT-type mail) Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; Troy NY USA
