I need some help with my misbehaving news installation. My NeXTstation Color running Rel3 won't work properly with the CNews.pkg installation found in sonata's /pub/next/patches. I open the package, follow the instructions to the letter, and when news transfers from the feeding site, it immediately returns a mail message to that site sent to its news daemon. I own Managing UUCP and Usenet, and found no helpful hints to troubleshoot news when it's already up and running. I've checked the obvious things like permissions and found nothing. But perhaps this is pertinent. I did find this mail message tucked away in /usr/spool/uucp: From uucp remote from magnusson received by magnusson (NX5.67c/NX3.0M) if AA00257; Thu 28 Jan 93 From: <magnusson!uucp> To: doberman!news Subject: uuxqt cmd (rnews) status (signal 0, exit 1) If anyone wants to sink a little precious free time into helping me read news from my nice NewsGrazer UI instead of rn, I would greatly appreciate it. Just reply to this message. It'll bounce to my machine at home.
