I am having little success connecting a NeXTstation to the net via the twisted-pair ethernet port. I have added the IP address of the machine, the local router and name server to the /etc/hosts file, and also the appropriate addresses to the /etc/hostconfig file. However, I keep getting the message: "network disabled or you're not connected to it". (The physical connections seem fine, and I will check out the cable later.) In its former site the machine was successfully connected to a Sun network via the thin ethernet connection, though I cannot tell from consulting the backup copies of the various /etc/rc* and /etc/host* files what needs to be set for the current network, except that the local name server does not seem to be identified anywhere. ANY help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
