I have the names and numbers of a few vendors that sell ColorStation memory (gleaned from the net and the old FAQ), but was wondering a few things that I think probably only the collective wisdom on the net would know, so here goes... I'm going to be buying a few more Color NeXTStations, probably Turbos. Because of the way MIT sells them, the minimal configuration I can get easily is 16MB/250MB (ram/disk). Assuming I want to fill these machines up with a lot of memory, what is the highest capacity DRAM out there for this machine? If this was an old NeXTStation or Cube I know all about 256K/1M/4M/16M, but with the newer machines, and their different sort of memory, I'm at a bit of a loss. Are the chips comprising the 16MB of the color Slab near the peak of their peer group (i.e. equivalent to 4MB SIMMs in old memory speak) or are they just taking up space (i.e. equivalent to 1MB SIMMs in old memory speak) and I'll need to throw them out to make way for better chips? Ideally I'm hoping that the 16MB machines are shipped with half of their memory slots free, so I can stick in 64 MB of the higher capacity memory (when it's available for a reasonable price). Is this reasonable? Also, does anyone know the name of the highest capacity memory you can stick in the NeXTStation Turbos, and the names of any current suppliers of it.
