Well here is what I get when I try to invoke talk on my machine [Couldn't bind to control socket : Can't assign requested address (49)] (It is the original talk as distributed by NeXT). Here is what ls -l has to say -rwxr-sr-x 1 root 32768 Nov 11 1990 /usr/ucb/ta -rwxr-xr-x 1 root 5896 Nov 11 1990 /usr/etc/talkd* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root 5896 Nov 11 1990 /usr/etc/ntalkd* I checked services in netinfo and /etc/services as well as /etc/inetd.conf That is all I could think of. Any hint would be greatly appretiated. Mike
