I had the same problems with SNS.  An error panel would pop up on the screen
too fast for anyone to read.  Do the following to get around it:

1) Use nidump to dump your important netinfo files (passwd, groups, aliases,
etc).

2) Copy the origional netinfo files from /usr/template/client/...
3) Reboot
4) Use niload to reload netinfo
