Thinking about serial-link network hookups in some form, I've occasionally
invoked /etc/ping or /usr/etc/spray, addressing the ONLY host available with-
out any actual hardware-hardware connections. The initial packet is in-
stantaneous (or nearly so). With a spray, or repetetive ping, the speed
and effectiveness drops off immediately and falls (seemingly depending upon
what other things are up and running, but I've seen it drop to the 30% range
and even lost data...
Any comparable results, or comments?
Thanks
Bruce
