How does one disable the ethernet port so that broadcasts do not get sent out the ethernet port. I am runing dialupip and have the slip0 interface configured well. The eternet will be a subnet eventualy but not now. The problem I have is that in the routing table there is an entry for en0 as well as slip0 and lo, the loopback. If I manualy delete the en0 route mail works well. If I dont delete that line then mail hosts that have the same first two octets in thier internet address as mine can not establish a connection with my mail. All those connections are replied to along the ethernet port... and go into the ether. I have a default gateway set up pointing to the router that I have a slip link to. Also If I delete the en0 route from the table then I get very slow response on any operation that uses the NetInfo databases. Is there a way around this dilema? Does any of this sound remotely familiar? Guy gthomas@native-ed.bc.ca
