I can't write on an NFS-mounted directory

I am new to using NFS. I have set up a directory on my Next as a server,
and a Sun as the client. I have used automount and everything seems
to work fine, except the directory (on the Next) is write-protected.
In auto.direct, I used the "rw" mount option, and did not specify "ro"
in the auto.master. Is there any (obvious) reason that I can't write
into that directory?

THanks in advance for any help.
