I finally got 3.0.. ran UpgradePrep from the floppy, and then ran Upgrade3.0
from the CD (just like the instructions said). EVERY TIME, whether I choose
Plan Upgrade or just Upgrade, it fails almost immediately with the following
error message:

[In an Error window:]

The preprocessing script wasn't able to operate successfully on the
target disk. See log for details.

{In the Log window:]

Preparing / for upgrade...
Relocating package receipts...done.
Installing bill of materials for Release2.2...done
Upgrade preparation complete.

I am using a color turbo slab 16/250 with NS2.2, the NeXT CD-ROM drive, and
there isn't anything "weird" about my system setup.

Things I've noticed that have gone wrong since installing the stuff (new
kernel?) from the CD-ROM tools disk: (a) sound is permanently muted, and
(b) serial port (modem) seems to freeze occasionally. (These showed up
immediately after running UpgradePrep.) (I fixed this temporarily by moving
the new sdmach to new.sdmach and copying the old odmach to sdmach.)

If you can help, please do! E-mail "wipeout@netcom.com" or call me at
510/549-3256.

thank you,
Eric

I don't have much room on my slab, but I want to but X on it (so that
rules out the version from mit ... which runs on a 21" screen anyway).
Is there a compiled version of X for the NeXT Turbo Color (17")??
Thanks.

Cuong
