passwd problems-->NetInfo

I am having touble getting Netinfo to work. Users on my 'station cannot do
a 'passwd -s' or a 'passwd -f' without getting this error messgae:

Cannot change finger information or shell with NetInfo (yet).

I tried running NetinfoManager, and added a _write_passwd and _write_shell
entries to each user with the attributes set to the user name, but that didn't
work either.

Any thoughts?

passwd -s and passwd -f simply don't work with netinfo. (at least
not in 2.1, does it work in 3.0?)
