Help! I am trying to get the autonfsmount program to read my Sun NIS auto.??? files and have it work. I have succeeded it modifying /etc/rc to read the NIS maps but it doesn't work. Any known problems? I cannot get the mounts to work correctly. When I login as a NIS user the autonfsmounter program knows about the mount points but does do the mount. Any ideas? -- Rich McGhee Federal National Mortgage Association 3900 Wisconsin Avenue, 4S-2H Washington DC 20016 NeXTMail: rmcghee@fnma.COM

Try to mount it manually using the mount command. Also, autonfsmount doesn't understand maps in the form of "machine1,machine2,machine3:/filesystem" as the Sun automounter does. This caused me some grief until I discovered it, and ended up writing a short sed script to remove the extra machines (which were there only because Sun doesn't do multihomed hosts properly).
