My NeXT printer no longer works after upgrading from 2.1 to 3.0.  The message  
is "No printer description file available".  PrintManager won't let me add it;  
the entry for NeXt printer is dimmed.

I tracked it down to the NetInfo entry.  Under printers, all the properties  
except name are missing.  I tried niloading the 2.1 version, which made the  
printer available, but printing failed due to the lack of some file.  

Can someone send me the result of a 3.0 nidump printcap? or point me to the  
information necessary to restore the entry?

My printer stuff was completely untouched and uncustomized.  Why can't NeXT get  
that part right, at least?  I'm urging people to wait for 3.1 unless they need  
the new features.

Hmmm. You haven't been following this group in the last little
while! I posted about this a couple of times! :-)

You can try to niload this:

But it didn't work for me. I wound up nudumping all my netinfo
stuff, copying the template netinfo database in
/usr/template/client/etc/netinfo to /etc/netinfo, and niloading
everything back in. That worked. Your mileage may vary.
