Well, I got the 3.0 upgrade installed on my home machine, a standalone
cube, and lo and behold, Local_Printer has disappeared. When I launch
PrinterManger, it doesn't find any printers attached, even though
I never disconnected my faithful NextPrinter. Has anyone out there
seen this? Is there some simple fix? My next try will be to nidump
the printcap from one of the (2.2) NeXTs on our network at work which
hosts a local next printer and then niload it at home. Surely there must
be a better way, and of course, being a mathematician, I crave some
logical explanation of what happened in the first place.
