working fingerd on NeXT Cube

I've got a NeXT '040 Cube running 2.1 and trying to get the Budne
fingerd working on it (or *anything* that will return a proper response
when fingered user@host).

Current output is:

 % finger @morrolan
[morrolan.eff.org]
Trying 192.88.144.30...
Login Name TTY Idle When Office
ckd Christopher Davis p0 1:05 Fri 13:02
hrose Helen Trillian Rose p1 1 Fri 16:15

% finger hrose@morrolan
[morrolan.eff.org]
Trying 192.88.144.30...
Login Name TTY Idle When Office
ckd Christopher Davis p0 1:05 Fri 13:02
hrose Helen Trillian Rose p1 1 Fri 16:15

No difference in outputs, even though there is a difference in what I
sent.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

You might try the fingerd on sonata.cc.purdue.edu in the submissions
directory (I think it is there).

Upgrade to 3.0? It seems that the fingerd has been fixed in this release:
