Printer accounting/monitoring

Hi,

I was wondering if there is any way on the NeXT to monitor and/or
regulate printer use? Basically, I want to be able to keep a log of who
uses the printer and how many pages the documents are. If possible, I'd
also like to be able to regulate who is allowed to use the printer. Any
help on this would be appreciated...

							Thanks,

							Brandon

Sure .... Read the man page on printcap(5). One of the things
you can specify is a flag: ...:af account_file: Basically if this
file exists and is writable, Every file printed on the printer will be logged
after completion of the job.

The entries are in the format:

	#pages host:user

	Unfortunately, there is no timestamp.
