Getting Preferences to stick (3.0)
#2174

I have one user that can't get preferences to stick. He sets them
then if he quits Preferences and starts it back, the preference is
gone! In addition, if he selects Unix Expert and hides the app,
nevertheless, he doesn't get the dot files to show.

Any ideas on what to look for?

Let me guess... the machine he uses does not get root access to the
NFS filesystem that his home directory is on.
I was hoping this was fixed in 3.0.
