I have to integrate a couple of new NextStation in the Campus network. I have seen that handling next is not so simple like a real Unix. It seems to be an interface layer between Unix and Next. For instance when I introduce a local user no change is made to passwd, but when I manually edit passwd, the user is recognized. How is it possible? I also need to shadow password on the nextstation, but no option to do that is in the manual. And finally, the next cannot print to the apple printers on ethernet, because of some errors in the postscript. Is there a FAQ to which I can refere to do the job? Anybody had my same difficulties, and overall is there a way to make Next a normal Unix sensible to modifications to standard configuration files?
