Can someone point me to documentation of the .forward file for rerouting mail? I've searched (with Digital Librarian) through the man pages, NeXT docs, FAQs and NeXTAnswers and find only one reference, in an example in the vacation man page. I'd like to see a precise statement of what .forward can do, and the correct syntax. -- Prof. Jeff MacKie-Mason internet: jmm@econ.lsa.umich.edu Dept. of Economics bitnet: usergc76@umichum Univ. of Michigan phone: 313-764-7438 Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1220 fax: 313-763-9181

Simple. The syntax is one address per line, or separated by commas, I think.
The format is the same as for aliases. See the aliases man page from Sun.
When you receive a mail, it is send to each email address specified. If the
line begins with '|', it is instead piped to the named program.
Here is an example: 3 lines. The first sends a copy of the mail to
another address, the second processes another copy and the third is a call
to vacation.
foo@bar.edu
"| ~/bin/procmail -d "
\me, "|/usr/ucb/vacation me"
Once again, look on a Sun (why do they have better man pages :-().
Hope it helps,
Lga.
