My user's home directories are NFS mounted from client NeXTs to a NeXT file server. I want to place some of them on a fast external disk: <10ms aat, >1gb. Any drive recommendations? -- Dennis P. Any drive recommendations? > Save your money. The bottleneck is the NeXT SCSI bus, not the drives. All the large (>1Gig) drives we have used easily out-pace the NeXT. If you want *real* performance, try hooking that >1Gig to a Sun Server. We seem to get a 2-4x increase in throughput from files on our Sun, vs. files on the NeXT. All this is through NFS.
