UUCP: 64-byte packet -> 256-byte packet
#496

In order to reduce uucp communication overhead, and improve throughput,
I've been told to increase packet size from 64-byte packets to 256-byte
packets.

Any suggestions on how to set uucp to accomplish this?
Current setup: 040 NeXTcuce <-> Hayes ULTRA 9600 <-> UUNET (T2500)

Thanks.

The packet and window sizes are determined at compile time. Get TaylorUUCP.
It compiles fairly easily. I have my packets set to 128 bytes and 7 packet
windows (which is the max that our feed can handle) and I get much much better
througput. Taylor will let you set up to 2k packets.

However, if you are spoofing, you won't get very much more througput if any
unless there is net-lag in your uucp link (like in mine). I get 800+ cps on
recieves now, but 110- cps on sends due to lag.
