If this problem has been noticed before, please tell me where I can find a solution to it--otherwise it seems like we've a bug. A friend of mine has accounts on several types of machine but forwards all his mail to his NeXT. I too have a NeXT and accounts on several other machines which forward to it. If I send mail directly to his NeXT, it leaves my mail queue but does not get delivered to him. If I send mail from any other account of mine directly to his NeXT it gets there fine. If I send mail to his sun account, which simply forwards to his NeXT, it arrives fine. Additionally, if I send mail from my NeXT to a bogus account on his machine, it looks to my machine as if his accepts it. Mail sent to the same bogus account from a sun gets returned with the non-existent user error. His mail directly to my NeXT works fine, but other NeXTs on campus have the same problems sending mail to his machine. What is going on here? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Here are verbose mail transcripts showing what happens with a genuine user and with a bogus user: TO A REAL ACCOUNT FROM NEXT TO NEXT: mail -v daugher@cachet.cs.tamu.edu Subject: test test EOT daugher@cachet.cs.tamu.edu... |-----> ask yourself this ... what is zacnxt19 doing here?
contact your local DNS admin and ask them what
Mail Exchanger they have listed for cachet.
