Worm drives <==> NeXT

I've been calling various vendors in the NeXT software and peripherals
guide, attempting to find out if anyone has WORM drives that will work
with the NeXT. A marketing guy at MicroTech told me that they wouldn't
work with the NeXT. This sounds unreasonable, but seems to be the case
since I can't find anyone that sells a device that works with a NeXT.

I would like to get in touch with anyone who is currently using a WORM
drive that is directly connected to a NeXT. What brand and model? How
does it perform? Where did you buy it? How much? Any problems to be
aware of?

Thanks for any input.

Why bother with a WORM (Write One Read Many) optical drive?
Just get a regular WMRM (Write Many Read Many) optical drive.

Easy way to handle it is make sure when data is replaced you move the
old data to a dircetory call /OldData. Make the directory writable by
root only.

I think WORM drives are basically dead. The initial concept of WORM was to
be able to write huge amounts of data on optical media. There didn't
exist the technology to re-write data so the WORM was created.

Get an OD and set up some management of files like SCCS, if the /OldData
idea won't work.
