My internal 400 is filling up and I have a 1.6Gig external drive that doesn't like to boot on its own...so is there a way of getting a symbolic link between crucial directories such as LocalApps, LocalLibrary and so on onto the external drive? Any othere solutions welcome! thanks, Scott

If you want all the apps to reside on the external including directory names, no problem. Create the LocalApps, LocalLibrary directories on the external. Put the applications and other stuff in those directories. Now there are two ways to proceed. 1. Link each file by (I can't remember which and it depends on the owner) either <command>, <shift>, <alt> dragging the file where you want it linked to. A double sided arrow will appear as the pointer as opposed to the copy and move representations. 2. You can delete those empty directories on the 400 and just link the directories from the other drive. I didn't do option number 2 because I kept my frequently used stuff in place. I also didn't do it because since that directory is a link you can't put anything in it and have it reside on the 400. -- /* -The opinions expressed are my own, not my employers. */ /* For I can only express my own opinions. */ /* */ /* Kent L.
