I had the following questions. Please note that the NeXTs we use are all
using NFS/NIS because we are in a sun/mac/next heterogeneous net.
1) Adding a "reply to" field to every outgoing mail message
automatically (not using the lame single message reply to of Mail.app)
2) DOS driver and automount deamon seem to conflict and disks get
stuck in the drive. How does one reinitialize the deamon after
manually ejecting the disk (or ejecting with DOS.util).
3) How can the environment be saved so that when one logs in,
applications which were open last time (before logging out)
would open automatically. I may not have space for all of them
or a particular one on the dock. How does one get individual
applications to open multiple windows in certain places.
Example: When editing a program using edit, there are likely to
be many open windows. If I quit, I would like edit,
upon relaunching to configure all my windows as before
even with the correct file being open.
PS I am aware that dwrite can be used to establish some
application preferences. Perhaps edit does not provide
for a rich enough set of features when it comes to the
aforementioned.
4) To login as root from any next to any next on the network do I have to
change the values of the ttyp's in /etc/ttys to include the setting
secure for that terminal.
All replies are appreciated. I would like to thank those who have already
provided comments, and will post replies.
BTW, I couldn't find these things in NeXTAnswers.
