HALP! Can't print to remote on non-ni network

I can print a test page from the printmanager, but every other
application says "No Printer Chosen" in the print dialog box.
There's no scrollable menu of printers to choose from, unlike
the illustrations in the manuals.
We're using NIS here.
WhadoIdo?

Do this:

Below is my nidump of a network printer.
Do an niload of this into your root netinfo domain, or if you aren't
running network netinfo into your local domain.

Aldus|WS|lp|ps|aldus|Aldus: \
        :rm=arafel:rp=LP:lp=:ty=NeXT 400 dpi Laser Printer: \
        :note=Hallway -- Everyday & draft use: \
        :sd=/u/scratch/spool/Next/Aldus:lo=lock:

You will have to change variables:
sd is spool directory. Normally /usr/spool/NeXT/printername
rm is the name of the remote machine
rp is the name of the printer on the remote machine
ty is the type. For remote printers it's informational ony.
note is what shows up in the printer panel comment.

Now it will show up on the printer panel.

Your host's name must either be in hosts.equiv or hosts.lpd on the remote
machine. Put it in hosts.lpd if you don't have an account on that machine,
otherwise in hosts.equiv.

Hope this helps
