I have a NeXTstation Turbo. I'm running 2.2 (3.0 in a while). I have a Hewlett Packard HP 35480A DAT drive. And I want to start doing backups... 1. Does the NeXT include kernel support for this drive? 2. When I do a backup using the dump command, will the system use the DAT drive by default, or do I have to address it in some way? (The dump man page refers to "/dev/rmt8" as the "default tape unit to dump to". Is this the appropriate filename for a DAT drive?) Thanks for you help.
