Turning off NeXT at night....

I would like to turn off my NeXT at night. Would I still get my mail
messages the next morning? How about after a weekend?

Also, I have a ND system with 2 monitors. Is there anyway of moving the
doc over to the monochrome side?

Thanks in advance?

Mail relays usually try to reach a host for 3 days before bouncing it.
However, unless there are good reasons for you to turn off your machine,
I wouldn't suggest it, as there are many arguments that profess that
continuous operation is a bit more healthy for (UNIX) machines than frequent
power-up/power-downs.

It _is_ more healthy for _any_ machine, especially if it has a hard disk.
Electrical transients and mechanical stresses originating from startups
and shutdowns are hard on components.

At the University of Puebla, where I used to work, there _still_ is a PC
clone with a 20 Mb disk that has not been turned off in almost seven
years, except for power failures. It has given no trouble whatsoever.
