Mail on my NeXT responds with :

		Fatal Error

	Invalid Mail Directory: /usr/spool/mail/user


I have checked all the permissions that I can think of and even tried logging
into a diffrent machine with the same result. Can anyone shed some light on 
what might be the cause?

Is your uid at your mailhost machine the same as the one on your station.

ls -l /usr/spool/mail/user shows owner to be your uid. 

I hope this is it. I had a similar problem once.
