Need advice over a mail "echo" problem

Greetings:

I have a strange problem, I hope you can help me resolve it.

About a month ago, a listserver started sending an annoying MCI mail
message to all of its members.  After a bit it went away.  However, on a
chance communication with the admin of the listserver, he told me that they
were receiving an echo of this message every four minutes for over a month!

My problem is that I cannot seem to trace this problem!  Can anyone tell me
what to do or where to look?  I use standard NeXT mail, normal sendmail,
and Pine from the dial-in side.
