Greetings... I have three NeXTs and two D.G Aviions networked together. Initially, I didn't have netinfo running. I could send mail from the NeXTs to the D.G.s no problem and also NeXTmail between the NeXTs. Then I hooked up a HP Laserjet IIP and found that I couldn't print remotely unless I had netinfo running and a netinfo server. So I configured my NeXT as the server and the printer works fine both remotely and locally. BUT now I can't recieve mail from ANYBODY! If I send mail to myself it just dissapears (ie, it isn't even returned to the sender with some error message). I tried setting up my machine as the mail server too but that didn't change anything. Obviously I'm rather ignorant of networking in general and netinfo specifically. I could really use some help other than NeXTs somewhat cryptic (to me, anyway) sysadmin book that comes with the computers. Thanks in advance! -Brad -- /-----------------This message brought to you by: ------------------\ | BRAD McQUAID: Programmer. | MILO D. Begin checking for error messages on your system console. I would then begin looking in /usr/spool/mqueue/syslog to see why sendmail is failing. If mail is not even bouncing back to the user, there is a chance the problem may be because sendmail does not know your host. Check NetInfo for correct local machine host configurations. -- Neil Greene Director, Computer Information Systems ARCI, Inc. President, Kentucky NeXT User Group, Inc.
