NeXTStep 3.0 sendmail problems

I'm having some problems with sendmail in 3.0.

Here is my setup. I have one NeXTStation (N1) that handles mail for another (N2).
N1 stays on all the time so that the other N2 can be powered down. The MX records
on our campus mail server point first to N2 and then to N1 and then to itself.
This has been working fine for some time with NeXTStep 2.1. Now things are
broken. Here is the error message:

<<< 553 N1.domain config error: mail loops back to myself
554 <user@N2.domain>... 554 Service unavailable

I tried this with both the provided sendmail.mailhost.cf and my previous one
from NeXTStep 2.1 with the same results.

Finally, I can't find the running deamon when I do ps -aux. How the heck
are things working now? There is no sendmail.fc so I guess that the config
file is read in every time it's needed. I can't kill the sendmail because I
can't find it.

I solved the problem. Or should I say NeXT solved the problem.
I found in /usr/lib both sendmail and sendmail.old. I moved sendmail
to sendmail.new and made a symbolic link for sendmail pointing to
sendmail.old.

    MX'ing problem solved!!!
