We are running AppleShare 4 server on our macintosh network (about 60 
stations).

We are tring to add a Novell server to the network and we have problems
with the "ZONE" names (and maybe network numbers). 
Any time we load the network cards on the novell server, and bind to it 
the appletlk stack (with a zone named "NOVELL"), all the printers and 
"new booted" macintoshes joind the zone and cant see the appleshare 
server.
This situation exist until we boot the appleshare 4.0 server too and 
join him to the zone too.

The worst thing is when the novell server goes down all the network 
stops because it created the zone .

How can I solve this problem ? 

I am looking for an option to load the appletlk on the novell without 
the zone "stuff", or any "zone generator" running on macintosh machine.

If you do not want zones, you will need to upgrade to NetWare 4.1  It
supports no appletalk routing.  Since you probably have NetWare 3.xx,
you are required to route appletalk.  Refer to the following
autoexec.ncf sample.  Make sure you are running appletlk.nlm 3.07b. 
Also, update all of the lan drivers on the server.
