I have most of our packages now installed on the server, using batch files to map drives etc, eg:- @echo off cls echo Loading up multi-user dBase4, this may take a little time ... map root w:=sys:apps/dbases/dbase4 >nul set oldpath=%path% path=w:\;%path% w:\dbase %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 path=%oldpath% set oldpath= map del w: >nul The problem is that although this is great if the package is running under DOS, they don't work properly running under child processes, eg XTreeGold and Windows DOS boxes, I get an Out of Environment Space message. The environment space if easily large enough, and works normally. I presume that XTGold and Windows truncate the environment space to only what is used. Is there any way round this? Thanks, Leslie Styles lms@soton.ac.uk
