I understand that the deskscan software which ships with the 4c is written for
win95 and will not run under win-os2. You can get an earlier version of the
deskscan software or use one of the native os/2 programs which will support
your scanner directly.  The earlier deskscans are probably archived at hp's
ftp site for download.  I have use the deskscan which came with my 3c with
no problem.   There is a new program which offers deskscan-like features but
is a native OS/2 program but I cannot find the piece of paper that I had written
the name on.  Others I have used include galleria (shareware alternative),
UniteLite (Cirrus Technologies), Applause (Solution Technologies), and impos/2
version 1.2.  Galleria is at hobbes.nmsu.edu in /os2/graphics.  Cirrus can be found
at www.cirunite.com on the web, Applause through email with solution@gate.net,
and impos/2 by contacting INdelible Blue.
Sorry I do not know the hp ftp site.
