Voicestream/8290 = US. Definitely not what Craig is talking about. The problem is that he hasn't enabled data with his mobile company, I'm almost sure of it. I remember getting a vodafone prepaid SIM in NZ and being able to use data on it no problems, and so assumed it'd be the same in Australia, but every carrier in Australia (as far as I'm aware) require data to be enabled (for free) before use. Pretty stupid, but I guess similar to the way SMS sending was disabled as standard 3 or 4 years ago.
