I have a problem where I can download an executable to my Palm IIIxe using hotsync. Although the download seems to go fine, there is no icon for the program. If I change the PalmRez Post Linker "Type" setting to "appl" (lower case) the icon downloads, but I get a hotsync error message: "Fatal Alert: MemoryMgr.c, Line: 3163, Invalid card #". If I change the type setting to "APPL" I do not get the fatal alert message, but I have no icon, so I cannot execute the program. I think it might be something wrong in my settings, but I cannot figure out where. Can anybody help me? Please e-mail me in addition to posting a reply. Thanks in advance. Brian, Your type must be 'appl' if you want it to function like an application (i.e., have an icon so you can launch it). So, you'll need to track down what's causing the Fatal error and get rid of it. -hkmlt MW Tech Support

The error was caused by not handling the sysAppLaunchSyncNotify. I was hitting uninitialized global variables after the HotSync load of my data bases. The APPL was an attempt to follow CW6 documentation (to resolve the above item), unfortunately it was a typo.
