Macintosh people are typically thrilled with the fact that a nine year old Macintosh Plus with a 68000 can run anything out there, yet a 386 is merely a toy? Please explain why. A 386 can actually get quite a bit done, FYI. Many people have extra ones which are being used as UUCP servers and so forth for their normal machines, for example, and many people use them for the normal machines. Heck, my only machine until just a year ago was a 386SX-16. HJ Lu, the developer for the Linux libraries and the Linux gcc port, is (unless he has upgraded in the last few months) using as 386SX-16. Etc. Unless you're a blind pawn of the computer hardware industry, you will know that one does NOT have to upgrade every couple of years to get real work done. And $50 is a real bargain for an old machine which works great. Macintosh Plusses, which do not even have the CPU power of the 386, run for $200 or so used. What's the better deal? Cheers, Terry Murphy
