Well, I will agree that it is a bit of a hassle, but (as someone
who has built seven PCs and has been a consultant for other people
building PCs) the bulk of this hassle comes when you start adding
additional hardware to the basic machine; a chore that many people
face even when they buy their basic machines off the shelf. The
Mac is nice in that they don't have that blasphemy known as the IDE
drive (or didn't; I don't know about some of the el-cheapo performas)
and the only thing you need to worry about when adding DASD is whether
you've got your SCSI bus properly terminated, but, if you're sensible,
neither does a homebuilt PC.

Do you pay someone else to eat dinner for you? After all, it's
a hour of your valuable time, and your boss would be happy to know
that you're, um, 'working' for free. And the next time you're
thinking about buying a hard drive, you'd better hire some teenager
to do it for $4.25 a hour, since your time is Too Valuable to WASTE
by calling MacWarehouse and ordering the SCSI disk of the month.
