  You are right, Apple won't go the way of the dodo, as its system is
getting more and more PC like, eventually Macs will be just another brand
name PC.  What with its PowerMacs running on the same chip as the PowerPC,
and PCI motherboards for the Mac, and its new OS that is due next year
sometime, which will only be able to run on a powerPC chipped Mac.  Plus
the PowerMac can run NT or soon OS/2  What, when Apple only holds 8%
market share (yes, I think BlackHoleQ was slightly wrong of this point),
do you really think they are going to keep the line of Macs going the way
they were, or do you think it makes more sense to slowly merge into the
Mainstream PC market?  They obviously do.

In short Macs won't die out, they will *most* probably become just another PC.
