I assume Joe's favorite productiveity study (Ingram, or the > Navy?) had controls. Actually, the best productivity study was by A.D. Little. Remember them--$1 billion dollar management consulting firm? One of the most widely respected consulting firms in the world? The study compared experienced Macintosh, Windows, and DOS users and measured the amount of time it took them to complete a variety of tasks from printing and opening files to installing the OS. Mac users completed the tasks in about half the time of Windows users and were 50% more accurate. The study was actually biased against the Mac users because there was a section on installing hardware (some type of add-in card--CD ROM, I believe). The Mac users had to do the whole job, while the hardware was installed for the Windows users and all they had to do was install the drivers. The study's available on www.apple.com. -- ------------------------------------------------ Regards, Joe Ragosta docjoe@interramp.com 100% Chemical -- and proud of it.
